Responsible Gaming

Certain habits and behavior patterns (eating, alcohol consumption, saving) that are considered normal and do not cause concern can develop into an addiction for some persons which can lead to problems. This can also happen in the case of gambling.

Our site should be used for entertainment purposes and wagers should be placed in moderation and with disposable income (money for the movies or a car wash or the night club). We implore you not to use income earmarked for your primary needs (shelter, clothing, food, children) to gamble with.

Further, you should not use our Website as a means of supplementing your income. All wagers are, by their very nature, a 'risk' and any winning derived from this wager is classified as fortuitous (LUCK). Always bear in mind that If you play long enough you will lose.

The following are a list of rules you can follow to enjoy the game without anxiety:

Over 18s only

Chances takes age verification seriously. You must be 18 or older to register and place bets with us. We may ask for age verification information from you and suspend your account until information providing an appropriate age is provided. Bets placed by under 18s may be voided.

Staying in Control

Online gaming is an exciting pastime for adults and at Chances we want the gaming experience to stay fun. We want you to stay in control and we ask you only to wager funds you can afford to lose - it's all about responsible gambling and staying in control!

With this in mind you may find the following helpful:

  • Gaming is an exciting, enjoyable pastime and NOT a way of making money.
  • Never attempt to make up funds lost by staking further funds.
  • As mentioned above we only want you to wager funds that you can afford to lose.
  • If you don't feel in control use our deposit limits or get help The National Council on Problem Gambling.
  • Keep a record of how much you have spent and how long you have spent gambling.
  • Finally if you have developed a problem it is very important to seek help and advise. Please talk to The National Council on Problem Gambling they are the experts.
Do You Have A Gambling Problem?
  • Do you stay away from work, college or school to gamble?
  • Do you gamble to escape from a boring or unhappy life?
  • When you run out of money while you're playing, do you feel lost and in despair, and feel the need to gamble again as soon as possible?
  • Do you gamble until your last penny is gone, even the bus fare home or the cost of a cup of tea?
  • Have you ever lied to cover up the amount of money or time you have gambled?
  • Have others ever criticised your gambling?
  • Have you lied, stolen or borrowed just to get money to gamble or to pay gambling depts?
  • Are you reluctant to spend 'gambling money' on anything else?
  • Have you lost interest in your family, friends or other interests?
  • After losing, do you feel you must try and win back your losses as soon as possible?
  • Do arguments, frustrations or disappointments make you want to gamble?
  • Do you feel depressed or even suicidal because of your gambling?

If you have answered yes to some of the above questions then it is highly likely you may have developed a gambling problem. If you would like some advice and support then, contact The National Council on Problem Gambling on their helpline.

Limits

Our Website allows you to limit your play time, deposits and ultimately close (self-exclusion) your account at any time.

Time Limits

Time Out allows you to take a short break from gambling, this enables you to block your account for a 24hr, 48hr, 7 day, or 30 day period. During this time you will be unable to bet on any Chances products. At the end of your selected time period your account will automatically be reopened.

Please note you will not be able to reverse this 'time out' during the period entered.

If you have an account you can set or manage your deposit limits by logging into your Chances account and going into the 'My Account' section. From here you can click on 'Player Protection' then 'Time Limits' Set Time Limits.

Self-exclusion means that your account will remain closed for a minimum period of 6 months, and will not be reactivated under any circumstances during the exclusion period.

We recommend that you seek additional support and advice from a professional problem gambling support agency during the self exclusion period. Although the minimum period of time that self-exclusion can be set is six months, there is no maximum period of time and self-exclusion can be permanent.

Please be aware that after the minimum 6 month exclusion period has passed, your account will not be automatically reopened.
